I thought I should review this place as I've been here many times now. Initially a bit difficult to find, but after the first visit you soon work it out. The food is absolutely delicious, and not something I can fault them on. Regardless of the time, it is always busy, and sometimes you may need to wait for a table. All main courses are under £10. Due to the restaurant's popularity and hence it's consequential busyness, you should never expect a fantastic service from your server. The service is not bad, but don't expect them to come to you or to give you full attention, they are usually rushed off their feet. The Sweet Potato and Cashew Curry is delicious (although it had no cashews, and my server tried to tell me 'they just put a few in, crushed' when I queried it). So I conclude: definately worth a visit, but don't expect a quiet atmosphere and undivided attention from your waiter. Worth visiting for the AMAZING food, with most dishes being vegan/vegan option (they even do a vegan basil mayo!). Positive Jay

Mildred's is quite a safe bet. Went there on Valentine's Day so there was obviously a bit of a wait to be served, but you wait at the bar so it's not too bad. When we got seated there was a couple having a row which was a little perturbing, but the irony was amusing. Mains where a little hit and miss - mushroom pie with chips and mushy peas was great - nothing very innovative, but it was good comfort food. The noodles were first not as ordered, and then rather bland when served again. Desserts were good but a little mean. Presentation was generally quite appealing. Beware the restaurant i quite hard to find even with a map - lots of turnings in the Soho backstreets! Neutral KMG

Have been to mildreds many times and recently took my sister, her boyfriend and my better half. Sat down very quickly and were given adequate time to browse what was on offer. The lads both had veggie burgers whilst i had pie and mash and my sister had noodles. Everyone was so impressed!! Pudding was amazing...i had ginger tofu cheesecake with rhubarb compote, absolutely delicious!! I urge you to take a wander down and try it, you won't be disappointed... Positive Gemma Hunt

Found this place whilst walking past and knew that somewhere this busy had to be great! I was not disappointed and neither was my non-vegan boyfriend. We had such a difficult time choosing what to have, and it was a novelty for me, a long time vegan to feel like this! Our food arrived quickly, was presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. At last I could eat with gusto and feel happy that in no way was the meal a compromise of the normal choices on offer! Good service, good prices very impressed and will be spreading the word to all, vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. Positive Paula Rhymes

Been here twice and you have to wait a while for a table as it's so popular. Dont expect to get seated as soon as you arrive but have a nice vegan wine at the bar whilst you wait. Good selection of vegan food too. Restaurant is cafe-style and simple so wouldn't go there for a romantic dinner but the food is wonderful, big portions and well priced. The specials board should always be checked out too! I recommend the veggie sausages. Great find in London. Positive Nat

Basic decor, wonderful food, wide selection, all dishes available with vegan option, vegetarian wine also available. This is my favourite veggie place to eat in London - my non-vegetarian boyfriend also loves it. The prices are really good, especially when you consider its central location. I'm not familiar enough with vegetarian cuisine to tell you whether the restaurant is fully vegan or organic, but I can tell you the food is great! I'd never had a veggie burger, but I'm so glad my first was at Mildred's. In fact, I've been craving one of them as of late because they were so moist, flavorful, well seasoned and served with delicious relishes. There was no attempt to make them taste like meat or meat substitute. Their recipes just let the vegetables and grains be their flavorful selves. My favorite was the one made with sweet potato. The stews and deserts were just as wonderful. As for the atmosphere, the place is small but the staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable for such delicious, filling fare.
