I go back to this restaurant time and again and I'm never disappointed. Babu and the team are welcoming and the food is always, fresh, bursting with flavour and great value for money. They recently made a donation of free food to a local Oxfam event. The event is part of the campaign called ‘Enough Food for All - If’ which is supported by Oxfam and calls for more money to be spent by western governments on aid to help end world hunger. imagine a world fed by these guys - smiles all round I'm sure. Eat like royalty for £10 a head and take home what you can't finish. The pumpkin paneer is a favourite of mine along with the Guvar curry and the masala dosa is always a winner at our table. The menu is extensive so it will take quite a few visits to try all the dishes but I'm loving the challenge. Expect sweet highly spiced (not hot) dishes as Babu has a sweet tooth. I recently cooked the green banana satay from Prashad (Bradford) and gave it to Babu and the team to taste - 'could have been sweeter' was the most common feedback. The mixed starter platter is impressive but don't let the size put you off ordering other dishes as they reheat well in the oven the following day. My wife's favourite in the chick pea curry, warm, nutty spicing of cloves and cinnamon with the trademark Jai sweetness. Booking is not usually necessary but several regulars often turn up an once on a Fri/Sat so give them a call if going on these nights just to make sure. And don't forget you can always get a takeaway although they do not deliver. Order over the phone to pick up. No takeaway discount but at these prices who needs it. Don't expect plush decor and furniture- do expect a clean, welcoming 60 cover intimate restaurant that pulls you in with the smells from the kitchen. ENJOY Positive chrisflorey

I love this restaurant! My husband goes there with my kids sometimes and the kids love the food especially the dosas! I occasionally go there too with them and the staff are so friendly, I park the car down one of the side roads near the restaurant as there's not much parking there but the food totally makes up for it! And the restaurant being pure vegetarian makes it an even better place! The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere too- especcially on a Sunday. 10/10 Positive Jessie

Unfortunately the main curry dishes were a great disappointment - bland, oily and parts of it was uncooked e.g. The potato in the saga aloo. However, the rotis and puris were fresh and lovely. I shan't be going again. Neutral Oriya

This restaurant is excellent for both vegetarians and vegans. There's an extensive menu, the food is delicious and authentic and extremely good value for money. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the staff friendly and the decor is simple and modern. Highly recommended. Positive Gill

Jai Shree Krishna in Turnpike Lane, is a brilliant restaurant which I can thoroughly recommend. The food is consistently good, it's great for vegans and the staff are friendly. It's cheap as well - and as another correspondant says - 2 people can have a meal for less than a tenner each. They don't serve alcohol, but if you fancy a drink there is an off licence next door and you can bring your own booze in. It's relaxed inside, with clean and simple decor. For me this a definitely veggie heaven! Positive franco frenetico

I have found jai shri Krishna a very low priced restaurent, I found the vegetarian Thali to be very tasty, one week the next week I tried the same dish only to my disappointment everything that was cooked by the chef tasted bland, then I tried the dosa and it did not taste nice at all. Hope they get a chef that knows how to cook properly. Negative Reena Dosaj

Delicious food that is very reasonably priced. A filling meal for two can be only £15. Has a vast menu including dishes from all over India. My favourites include Shahi Panir and Chilli Mogo. Yum! It has a modern but homely atmosphere with very friendly staff. BYO but try the lassi's! Also an Indian Sweet counter with fresh jelebi and ghatia at the weekend. Positive Rima
